Especially with these really large files. I pretty sure this with fix the main issues. The auditor are going to start putting static copies of the date in the Word documents and cut out all the linking. Jeremy, I cannot find where to change the refresh rates in excel. As for their general Office slowness I can confirm with Rob the people that don't have PPC installed having any of the general slow issues. The excel files aren't linked together but the do use the engagement TB links as LBFF suggested. The word documents they are having issues actually have links in them from multiple excel files. CCH says it's nothing to do with their side of things and I see their point a little.Īnyone with experience, solutions, comments, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. All theses are stored a document management type of software: Engagement for CCH. The excel file itself is linked to other excel files. It a pretty large excel file with lots of tabs and large word document.
The files breaking is slowing them down so much that it is now an IT related 'problem'. We need the files linked to update the word number if we need to change a number before the final printing.
And also the Excel documents crash enough when the Word document is open. This Word document crashes a lot and if you don't open up all the excel files first it won't even open. The short version is the auditors draft a word document embedding excel links through out the document. I work at an accounting firm and we are having a heck of time with Word and Excel links. I am wondering if anyone else as had a similar issue and a possible solution.
